Every Saturday morning at 7am, radios all over Acadiana are tuned to Mustang 87.7 and 107.1 FM for four hours of the best in Cajun french music: The Fred Charlie Cajun Show. It all happens in the Carencro studios of Delta Media where Fred Charlie and his wife, Delores “Miss Dee” are kept busy fielding a constant flow of phone calls, emails and Facebook messages. Thanks to the internet, social networking and the proliferation of smart phones, tables and computers, Fred’s radio program is heard not just in South Louisiana, but throughout America and around the world, with listeners as far away as Egypt, Japan, Germany and Russia. Interspersed between songs is the occasional commercial from one of the show’s many sponsors, as well as special requests and birthday wishes. It’s Fred at his finest, doing two of the things that he loves to do: radio and Cajun music.

In 2011, Fred began attending Dave et Ray’s Camp Jam, a private supper club that meets south of Eunice. There, he began to make friends with a number of younger Cajun musicians. “I’ve never met so many young musicians that showed so much respect for the older generation,” Fred remembers. The friendships that he established there, as well as the camaraderie that he enjoyed, inspired him to launch a new recording project. “Having fun is the essence of what we do when we get together at the jam. I thought it would be fitting to have my supper club friends along with some of my band members be a part of this new CD.” Parti m’amuser is the result. Months of studio collaboration between Fred and his buddies have culminated into a work that evokes the spirit of Cajuns having fun, laughing and living life to the fullest. It’s a testament to friendships and highlights the life of a man whose work to further the Cajun culture has continued on to this day. ~liner note excerpt by Boisy Pitre.  Released in March 2015, 10 tracks.
