Le Forgeron (aka The Blacksmith) is, in many ways, a tribute to Ganey’s great-grandfather, Andrew Doucet, who was not only a blacksmith, but an accordion player, as well. Andrew’s recording of “Le two step du forgeron” lit a fire in Ganey that has burned uncontrollably every since he was 8 years old. It is what started Ganey on his musical journey. For him, the title has two meanings. This album starts with Ganey’s version of the song and ends with his great-grandfather’s. It’s what is found between the first and last song that symbolizes Ganey’s journey as he forges his way into new territory. Le Forgeron, released in August 2013, 15 tracks.
