You Need Love, by south Louisiana recording star, Don Rich, is centered as a tribute to an influential songwriter-performer, Otis Scott. In the 1960s, Otis Scott was the local king of that soulful sounds which rose from the dancehalls of Assumption and the surrounding parishes of that part of Louisiana, west of New Orleans. Otis never recorded the songs he moved so many belly-rubbing patrons with. Don was a huge fan of Otis, so it was only a matter of time before Don recorded Otis’ beloved songs.
