Born in Gonzales, LA in 1954, Mike Broussard started playing the guitar at age 12. In 1968, he formed his first band, The Drifters. Mike formed The Nite Train Band in 1977. The tracks on this album come from recording sessions in 1988, 1990 and 1991. The answer for Mike’s appeal is his staying power. “It’s because we try to mix up our music by playing a wide variety,” says Mike about his continued popularity. In 1999, the South Louisiana Music Association presented Mike with the Pioneer Award at their annual awards show. This compilation by Mike Broussard and Nite Train is one of the best varieties of South Louisiana dance favorites that anyone would ever want to hear. ~Jimmy & Connie Rogers, CSP Records. Volume 2 also available. Released in 1999, 18 tracks.
